Quick Answers
How does the Komodo visitor quota affect dive trips?
Komodo National Park operates with a daily visitor quota, which can make popular dates sell out faster. We include park fees in your booking to help secure your diving days. Book early to guarantee availability.
Are Komodo National Park fees included in the price?
Yes — all our trips include Komodo National Park fees (IDR 300,000 per day). There's nothing additional to pay on the boat for park access.
What's included in the dive trip price?
Guide (max 4–5 divers), tanks, weights, breakfast snack, lunch, drinks, safety equipment onboard, and park fees.
Not included: equipment rental (if needed), dive insurance, alcohol, optional extras.
When is the best time for Komodo dive trips?
Year-round. April–November: calmer seas and great visibility in the north. November–April: stronger chance of manta encounters in the south. We adapt daily to conditions and tides.
Do I need Advanced certification?
Not for all sites. Many dives suit Open Water divers (Siaba, Manta Point on calm days). More challenging sites like Batu Bolong, Castle Rock and The Cauldron require Advanced certification and recent current experience.
Will I see manta rays?
Manta encounters are common at sites like Manta Point and Makassar Reef, but wildlife is never guaranteed. The best chance is typically November–April, though mantas can appear year-round depending on conditions.
Is Nitrox available?
Yes. Free Nitrox is included for certified divers on all packages (subject to availability). If you're not Nitrox certified, we can organize the PADI Enriched Air course.
Is dive insurance required?
Yes, dive insurance is mandatory for all divers. We recommend DAN coverage, which is available at our reception. It covers hyperbaric treatment and evacuation if needed.
What equipment do you provide?
Full ScubaPro rental available: BCD (wings-style), regulators, 3mm wetsuit (5mm available), mask, fins. Shearwater computers and GoPro 13 are available for rent.
Can beginners join Komodo dive trips?
Yes! We have sheltered sites for new divers and offer PADI courses from Open Water to Instructor. We match dive sites to your comfort level and experience.
