“Turtle highway” — great viz and relaxed profiles. It is also an excellent spot for macro diving where you can spot some flamboyant cuttlefish, frogfish, hornet ghost pipe fish...

FAQs — Komodo Daily Diving
When is the best time to dive Komodo?
Year-round. Dry season (Apr–Nov) often brings calmer seas and great visibility in the north; Nov–Apr brings plankton and mantas to the south. We choose sites daily by tides and conditions.
Can beginners dive in Komodo?
Yes. We have beginner-friendly sites and teach PADI courses. Some advanced sites (e.g., Batu Bolong, Castle/Crystal Rock, Shotgun) require experience in currents and Advanced certification.
Will I see manta rays?
Very likely at Manta Point and Mawan, with sightings depending on plankton and conditions. Peak manta action typically occurs between Nov–Apr in the south.
What’s the typical day schedule?
Breakfast ~06:00 → depart ~07:00 → 3 dives (~09:00 / ~11:00 / ~13:00) with snacks & lunch onboard → return ~16:00–17:00. Exact times vary with tides and destination.
What’s included in a Komodo dive day?
Guide (max 4–5 divers per guide), tanks & weights, lunch, water/tea/coffee. Park fees and personal gear rental are extra. We use wings-style BCDs and high-quality ScubaPro equipment.
Is Nitrox available?
Yes—available on day trips and included on select multi-day packages. Great for repetitive diving. See PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox).
Do you rent cameras or dive computers?
Yes. GoPro Hero 13 action cameras and Shearwater Peregrine computers are available to rent (limited units—please reserve in advance).
What wetsuit and gear do you provide?
3 mm full suits included; 5 mm available on request (extra)—useful for cooler southern sites (Dec–Mar). Wings-type BCDs for better trim & performance.
How many guests are on the boat?
Small-group policy for comfort—around 15 guests max per boat to keep things relaxed and away from the crowds.
Are dive sites guaranteed?
No. Sites may change on the day according to tides, currents, weather and diver experience. Final selection is at the captain’s and dive leader’s discretion for safety and best conditions.
Do I need insurance? What about no-fly time?
Park-compliant dive insurance is required (DAN short-term available at reception). We recommend a 24-hour no-fly interval after your last dive.
What should I bring?
Certification card & logbook, reef-safe sunscreen, hat, towel, any personal meds, and cash/card for park fees & rentals. If prone to seasickness, consider medication before boarding.
Can non-divers/snorkelers join?
Often yes on specific routes and sea states. Ask us—availability depends on the day’s sites and conditions.
Park fees & payment?
Park fees are paid on site and set by the authorities; our staff will brief you on the day’s amounts and process. Fees are separate from trip prices.
Do you offer combo trips with dragons/Padar?
Yes, selected itineraries can include Rinca dragon trekking or Padar hike combos (subject to tides, timing and minimum numbers). Ask our team for current options.
