How the Open Water + Advanced Combo Works
Two certifications completed in the correct order, with one continuous training team.
The Dragon Dive Komodo OW+AOW Combo follows two consecutive stages. First, learn the core knowledge and in-water skills required for PADI Open Water certification. Once those requirements are successfully completed, continue with 5 Adventure Dives to develop your experience and earn the PADI Advanced Open Water certification.
For divers aged 15+, Advanced certification carries a maximum depth qualification of 30 m. Divers aged 12–14 earn Junior Advanced Open Water and are limited to 21 m. Certification never guarantees access to a specific Komodo site; site selection still depends on tides, conditions, comfort and instructor assessment.

FAQ — Open Water + Advanced Combo in Komodo

The scheduled format is 4 days when the assigned eLearning is completed on time. PADI training is performance-based, so the order may change with conditions and additional training may be needed if a student requires more time.
How do the two courses work together?
First complete the PADI Open Water requirements: knowledge development, water-skills assessment, pool training and 4 ocean course dives. After earning Open Water certification, continue with 5 Advanced Adventure Dives, including Deep and Underwater Navigation, to complete the Advanced course.
What are the required Advanced Adventure Dives?
Deep and Underwater Navigation are required. Select the other 3 Adventure Dives with your instructor according to your interests, age, local conditions and availability.
What are the minimum age and depth limits?
The minimum age for the full combo is 12. Divers aged 12–14 earn Junior certifications and have a maximum Advanced qualification depth of 21 m. Divers aged 15 and over qualify to a maximum depth of 30 m after successful Advanced course completion. All divers must remain within their training, experience and comfort limits.
What's included in the combo price?
The price includes both PADI eLearning courses, the water-skills assessment, pool training, 4 Open Water course dives, 5 Advanced Adventure Dives, full SCUBAPRO equipment, Komodo National Park fees, listed breakfasts and lunches, instruction and both certification-processing fees. Are Komodo National Park fees included?
Yes. Komodo National Park fees for the scheduled course dives are included in the published combo price. We collect the required participant information and arrange registration before departure.
