Dragon Dive is no longer a hostel. Since 2020, we have transformed into a true PADI 5★ Dive Resort in the heart of Labuan Bajo. We offer 19 hotel-style rooms with soundproof glass, premium mattresses and hot showers — perfect for resting between dives.
As a complete PADI training center in Komodo, we guide divers from Open Water to Instructor IDC. Our facilities include a training pool, camera area and modern classrooms.

Komodo offers diving all year, but conditions vary by season. Here is a simple breakdown to help you plan your trip:
December – March
Rainy season, fewer boats. Best for South Komodo & Padar, cooler water, frequent mantas, gorgeous soft corals and macro.
April – June
Transition into the best period for North & Central: calmer seas, blooming reefs and improving visibility.
July – August
Dry-season peak. Stronger currents in the North for epic drifts and excellent visibility. Mantas can be more discreet at this time.
September – November
Warm water, fewer crowds, and mantas gradually returning south. One of the best windows to explore multiple regions.

What's included in Dragon Dive Komodo liveaboard trips?
Our Komodo liveaboard trips include private cabin accommodation, meals onboard, 3–4 dives daily with experienced guides, tanks, weights and Nitrox for certified divers. Komodo National Park fees are included when they appear integrated in the published price in our booking system.
How many people are on your liveaboard?
We limit Shenron to 8 guests maximum to keep the service personal, safer, more flexible and better for photographers.
Is Nitrox available for diving in Komodo?
Yes. Nitrox EAN32 is included for certified divers on Shenron Liveaboard and available on day trips. The PADI Nitrox course is also offered at our dive center.
Is Dragon Dive Komodo a PADI Platinum Award center?
Yes. Dragon Dive Komodo received the PADI Platinum Professional Development Excellence Award 2026. The resort also has two resident Course Directors, Elise Laffourcade and William Baillet, available in-house.
What's the best season for Komodo diving?
Komodo diving is excellent year-round, but conditions vary: April–November often gives calmer seas and great visibility in the north. December–March brings cooler, plankton-rich waters to the south, with frequent manta encounters.
How do I get to Dragon Dive Komodo?
Fly to Labuan Bajo (LBJ) via Bali, Jakarta, Surabaya, Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. We are located in central Labuan Bajo, around 10 minutes from the airport. We recommend arriving one day before a liveaboard departure.
Can beginners dive in Komodo?
Yes. Komodo has some very challenging sites, but also many beginner-friendly locations. We have a strong safety culture with 0 serious dive accidents to date. Our PADI 5★ IDC dive center offers Open Water courses and always matches dive sites to your experience level.
