What You Will Learn — PADI Drift Diver

Essential Drift Skills

  • Entries/exits adapted to flow (negative entries when relevant)
  • Buoyancy & trim to minimize drag; staying high over the reef
  • Reading current direction & strength; route choices
  • DSMB/reel deployment and surface procedures
  • Team spacing, buddy contact and lost-buddy protocol

Where We Drift (conditions permitting)

  • The Cauldron (Shotgun) — channel acceleration & schooling trevallies
  • Castle Rock — hook-in viewpoints & pelagic shows
  • Karang Makassar / Mawan — gentle glides with manta cleaning stations

Prerequisites

  • PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent) — AOW recommended
  • Minimum age: 12
  • Recent diving (Refresher suggested if 12+ months inactive)
  • Medically fit to dive

What’s Included

  • 2 drift training dives with instructor (EN/FR/ID)
  • Briefings, knowledge review and safety procedures
  • Use of DSMB/reel for ascent practice (or rental if needed)
  • PADI certification processing

Not included: Komodo National Park fees (paid onboard in IDR), equipment rental, dive computer, and medical clearance if required.
