PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty course IN KOMODO
Would you like to stay longer when your dive computer tells you its time to finish your dive?
Would like to reduce your risks of being tired and decompression sickness?
By increasing the percentage of oxygen in the air we breathe, we can consume less nitrogen. This gives you longer no decompression times, especially so on repetitive dives.
If staying underwater longer and spending less time on the surface sounds like your sort of thing then do not waste any more of your time diving on a gas mixture of 21%.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Practical Assessment #1
During the first practical assessment you will be shown how to use an oxygen analyzer to determine the oxygen content in an enriched air blend.
Your Dive Instructor will also show you how to verify cylinder content data and sign the fill log. By the end of the session, you will be able to demonstrate both.
Practical Assessment #2
During the second practical assessment you will be asked to demonstrate the procedures for obtaining an enriched fill and renting an enriched air cylinder from an enriched air fill station.
Open Water training – there are 3 Enriched Air dives to complete.
Enriched Air training dives 1 & 2
During Enriched Air training dives 1 & 2 you will execute two dives within the no stop limits with your Instructor, establishing your maximum depth and oxygen exposure limits during pre-dive planning.
You will also be expected to use your dive computer to plan these dives. At the end of both dives you will perform a safety stop at 5 metres /15 feet.
The third dive is offer and you will do your first fun dive with your diving instructor.
The Instructor led knowledge development is conducted prior to your two Nitrox dives courses.
All the theory and final exam have to be complete online.
Before scuba diving we will analyze your cylinders in preparation for the dives in Komodo national Park.
Some of the subjects you will cover include:
- The benefits of diving on Enriched Air
- The recommendations for using equipment with enriched air
- Air filling procedures, cylinder markings & analyzing
- Planning Enriched Air dives using a dive computer
- Oxygen partial pressures, maximum and contingency depth limits and hazards of exceeding these
- Signs and symptoms of oxygen toxicity
- Be an Open Water diver
- Have recent diving experience – we recommend completing a scuba review if you have not dived for 12 months
