PADI Deep Diver Specialty Course IN KOMODO
The PADI Deep Diver speciality is a popular scuba diving course designed to give divers the knowledge and skills they need to explore deeper dive sites safely. In this course, divers will learn about the risks and challenges associated with deep diving, as well as the equipment and techniques they can use to manage those risks and stay safe.
With the PADI Deep Diver speciality, divers can expand their underwater horizons and discover new and exciting dive sites that are beyond the reach of recreational divers. This course is perfect for experienced divers who want to take their diving to the next level, and for those who are interested in exploring wrecks, walls, and other deep dive sites.
The deeper depths of the ocean have always fascinated ocean explorers and becoming a PADI Deep diver will allow you to dive exciting ship wrecks and wall dives that are beyond 18 metres.
In Komodo it will open the door of many amazing dive sites only accessible for deep diver .
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Orientation & Knowledge Development
We start the PADI Deep diver specialty course with an Orientation that includes completion of paperwork and the PADI Medical statement.
The PADI Deep diver course consists of 3 or4 training dives at a variety of deeper dive sites around Komodo.
There is also a Deep Specialty diver manual to read and an open book knowledge review with 20 questions that your instructor will guide you through and review.
The Instructor led knowledge development is conducted during the morning of day 1. Some of the subjects you will cover include:
- Personal deep-diving depth limit
- Specialized equipment recommended for deep diving
- Nitrogen narcosis
- Signs and symptoms of decompression illness
- Emergency decompression stop
- Factors that may predispose a diver to decompression sickness
The course consists of two sections:
- Knowledge Development – Read the PADI Deep diver manual and complete the knowledge review
- Open Water training – 3 or 4 x Deep diver training dives
At Dragon Dive Dive we take our customer promise very seriously. All courses are conducted with a maximum of 4 students per certified PADI Instructor.
Our Instructors are highly trained and will ensure you receive lots of attention and most importantly, progress at your own pace in a relaxed environment.
During your training we will slowly build your confidence and ability as you develop the skills necessary to become a competent PADI Deep diver specialist.
- Be an Adventure diver or have a qualifying certification from another agency
- Recent diving experience – we recommend completing a scuba review if you have not dived for 12 months
- 15 years old or older
- Medically fit to dive
