Why dive in Central Komodo?
Located between the current-swept North and the cooler, plankton-rich South, Central Komodo offers the perfect balance. It is the most popular destination for day trips from Labuan Bajo because it delivers world-class diving without the extreme conditions found elsewhere.
Here, the water is generally warm (27-29°C), and visibility is excellent. The topography features sloping reefs, sandy bottoms, and small pinnacles, making it a playground for both wide-angle (Mantas!) and macro photography.

Diving with Respect 🌿
Central Komodo is a sanctuary for Manta Rays. When encountering them at Mawan or Karang Makassar: Do not chase them. Stay low, control your buoyancy, and let them come to you. If you block their path or swim towards them, they will leave. Patience is the key to magical encounters.
