The second home of the Komodo dragon

Rinca Island is the second-largest island of the Komodo National Park. Along with Komodo Island and Padar island and held the UNESCO World Heritage status since 1991. It is home to the unusual Komodo dragon, the giant lizard in the world. It is a great place to see Komodo dragons of all ages in their natural habitats and various locations. You’re guaranteed to see dragons here for a few reasons: the density of the population, there is less cover for the dragons to shelter under, and there are fewer tourists around than on other islands to disturb them.
The most fantastic place to see them is in the south of Rinca during our liveaboard diving.

Most preserved island of The Komodo National Park

Aside from the dragons, Rinca Island is also abounding with local wildlife, including macaques, buffaloes, snakes, deer, birds, and wild pigs. The fauna in Rinca Island is vibrant, and few tourists come here, which allows you to discover these animals without annoyance.

The island also offers stunning beaches and is a great place to snorkel and scuba diving, given its lush underwater life. You will find some new dive sites with many unique species, making it one of its richest marine wildlife, from macro life to mammals such as dugongs.
