Alor Liveaboard: Dive into the Hidden Paradise
Untouched reefs, schooling hammerheads, and the world's best muck diving. Discover why Alor is the new frontier for serious divers, and why a liveaboard is the only way to see it all.
Why Choose an Alor Liveaboard? 🌊
Alor is not just another dive trip; it's an expedition. Located in East Nusa Tenggara, this remote archipelago offers a blend of vibrant coral walls, cold-water upwellings, and volcanic black sand that you won't find anywhere else.
Zero crowds. Unlike Komodo or Raja Ampat, you will often be the only boat on the dive site.
Volcanic seamounts, active volcanoes, and traditional villages clinging to the cliffs.
From Pygmy Seahorses to Hammerhead Sharks and Mola Mola. The variety is staggering.
If you’re not a confident and experienced diver, this destination may not be suitable. Alor is challenging, and if you prefer relaxed, easy dive sites, it’s better to consider another location.
The pristine coral gardens of Alor are some of the healthiest in Indonesia.
The Shenron Experience 🛳️
Alor is vast. To reach the remote hammerhead sites in the south and the muck sites in the bay on the same trip, you need a liveaboard. Shenron is designed for this adventure.
Enjoy private ensuite cabins, delicious fusion cuisine, and the freedom to wake up at a new dive site every morning. Nitrox is available for extended bottom times.

Alor offers a mix of adrenaline and patience. Here are the sites we visit:
1. Kal's Dream

2. The Cathedral
Wall DiveA dramatic wall in the south. The cold upwellings here (dropping to 20°C!) attract Thresher Sharks, Mola Mola, and Hammerheads. The coral growth is spectacular.
3. Mucky Mosque
Macro / MuckLocated directly in front of a mosque, this black sand slope is world-famous. Hunt for Rhinopias, Mimic Octopus, and flamboyant cuttlefish.
4. Clown Valley (Anemone City)
All LevelsThe highest concentration of anemones in the world. Volcanic rocks are completely carpeted in them. A wide-angle photographer's dream.
Beyond Diving: Culture & Dugongs 🦭
The Dugong Whisperers
Alor is one of the few places in Indonesia where you can see Dugongs in their natural habitat. We organize specific surface intervals to look for "Mawar," the famous resident dugong of Alor.
Takpala Traditional Village
We don't just stay on the boat. We visit the Abui tribe in Takpala village. Witness the "Lego-Lego" dance and learn about their sustainable way of life. The Alorese people use eco-friendly fishing methods (fish traps), which explains why the reefs are so healthy.
