The Komodo National Park is a must-visit destination for any diving enthusiast. You will be amazed by the beauty of this place! Get your PADI Divemaster certification today in Indonesia and experience it for yourself.

For my own Divemaster training, I went to Dragon Dive Komodo Dive Resort (DDK), which is located on the island of Flores in Indonesia, in Labuan Bajo. This is an amazing location to do your dive training, as you will be surrounded by stunning natural beauty during your course. Komodo offers breathtaking diving opportunities with incredible coral reefs, schools of fish, and of course, the famous Komodo dragons.

The team at DDK is simply outstanding. Their passion for diving and marine conservation is palpable, and they will pass this enthusiasm on to you during your training. You will also make many friends with the instructors and other DMTs (Divemaster trainees) throughout the course. By the end of my training, I felt like I had become part of a family.

Komodo is accessible by plane from Bali , and the DDK team can advise you on the best way to get there.

While Komodo National Park may be a big island, it is bursting with life!

Diving in Komodo is a truly unforgettable experience. The waters around the island are home to some of the most diverse and abundant marine life in the world, making it a dream destination for any diving enthusiast.

One of the main attractions of diving in Komodo is the chance to see the incredible manta rays, which can grow up to 7 meters in wingspan. These gentle giants can often be seen gliding through the water, sometimes in groups of up to 10 or 20.

Another highlight of diving in Komodo is the chance to see the fascinating Komodo dragons. While these reptiles are primarily land-dwelling, they are known to swim between the islands, and can sometimes be seen underwater as well.

The coral reefs around Komodo are also stunning, with a wide variety of hard and soft corals providing homes for an abundance of marine life. Schools of colorful fish, including angelfish, parrotfish, and butterflyfish, can be seen darting in and out of the coral formations. There are also many species of nudibranchs, crustaceans, and other invertebrates to discover.

Currents can be strong around Komodo, which can make for some exciting drift dives. However, this also means that diving in

Komodo is best suited for experienced divers but it is simply perfect to learn how to dive as the current and topography is absolutely not easy. The dive sites around the island offer a range of depths, from shallow reefs to deep walls, and there are options for both day and night dives.

Overall, diving in Komodo is an incredible experience, with abundant marine life, stunning coral formations, and the chance to see some truly unique creatures. It is definitely a must-visit destination for any diving enthusiast.

Despite its size, Labuan Bajo offers a wide variety of restaurants, with affordable prices for eastern Indonesia.

Remember that the further East you go more you will have to spend. If you are on a super thigh budget, maybe better to consider another island as Labuan Bajo and Komodo are more expensive than Bali or Gili’s. For me was a sacrifice but the result is here! I am a good trained pro diver and i choose a quality lifestyle and marine environment instead of partying and dead coral. All are matters of choice in Life isn’t it ?

There are also few bars on the island for your post-diving activities. With its tropical climate, you will enjoy beautiful weather all year round. I highly recommend heading to the North East side of the island for stunning sunsets, and if you’re up for it.

In summary, doing your Divemaster training at DDK in Komodo Labuan Bajo will be an incredible experience. Just be warned, you may never want to leave such an amazing place!
