Discover NITROXThe best time to scuba dive in Komodo National Park is from April to November, during the dry season. These months offer calm seas, excellent visibility, and a higher chance of encountering diverse marine life, including manta rays, reef sharks, and vibrant coral reefs.
However, Komodo offers unique diving experiences year-round:
Rainy season with fewer crowds. Great for diving in South Komodo & Padar—manta rays are often spotted from October to April. Also good for macro diving and quieter sites.
Transition period leading into the prime season for North & Central Komodo (March–November). Enjoy calm seas, blooming reefs, and active marine life with generally good visibility.
Peak of the dry season in North & Central Komodo. Expect stronger currents—ideal for thrilling drift dives. Water clarity is excellent, though manta sightings in the north can be less frequent.
Continued great conditions in North & Central Komodo, with warm waters and clear visibility. By late October, mantas begin returning to the south, giving you more site options for encounters.
