We've designed a specific package to guarantee your safety and enjoyment, using our unique facilities that other centers don't have.
🏊 "Pool-First" Confidence
We are the only PADI 5★ IDC center in Labuan Bajo with an on-site heated pool. Your pathway starts here, not in the ocean. We conduct a complete Scuba Refresher with you in our pool so you can regain confidence with your equipment, buoyancy, and skills — no stress, no waves, no current. You won't touch salt water until YOU feel ready.
🐢 Calm, Suitable Sites
Forget Batu Bolong, Castle Rock, and current sites for now. Your first (or second, or third) day at sea will be at beautiful but protected and calm sites, specifically selected for their absence of strong currents. Examples: Siaba Besar (Turtle City - up to 8 turtles per dive!), Sebayur Kecil (shallow coral gardens), or Manta Point (Manta rays, white-tip reef sharks in calm water). You'll see incredible marine life in complete safety.
👥 Guaranteed 2:1 Safety Ratio
You won't be a lost number in a group of 6+ divers. We guarantee a maximum ratio of 2 divers per 1 guide/assistant for all our beginner or refresher groups. Your guide can watch you constantly, respond to your signals instantly, and adapt the pace to YOUR needs. You can even request a private 1:1 guide for 100% personalized attention (surcharge applies).

❓ Beginner Frequently Asked Questions
What if I panic underwater?
With the 2:1 ratio, your guide is maximum 2-3 meters from you at all times. A simple hand signal and he/she is at your side. If you need to ascend, we ascend together immediately — zero pressure, zero judgment. Your comfort is the absolute priority. Plus, the pool refresher lets you "test" this situation in a controlled environment before going to the ocean.
How long has it been since I last dived?
More than 12 months: The pool Scuba Refresher is mandatory according to PADI/SSI standards (and it's included in your package).
6-12 months: Strongly recommended to regain your automatisms.
Less than 6 months: The complete briefing is usually sufficient, but you can request a refresher if you feel rusty.
Can we really stay in shallow water?
Absolutely. The beginner sites we select are magnificent in shallow depth:
• Siaba Besar (Turtle City): 5-12 meters max, green turtles galore
• Sebayur Kecil: 5-15 meters, spectacular hard coral gardens
• Manta Point / Mawan / Tatawa Besar: 8-14 meters, peaceful white-tip sharks, Manta rays and coral galore
There is no obligation to dive deep. Komodo's beauty is accessible from 5 meters.
What if my buddy/partner is more advanced than me?
We separate you intelligently thanks to our 2 dedicated day boats. Concrete example: you'll go on the "Beginner" boat with calm sites + 2:1 ratio, while your partner goes on the "Advanced" boat with current sites + 4:1 ratio. You meet up for lunch and surface intervals. Everyone enjoys at their level, no compromise.
Will I miss Komodo's most beautiful sites?
No! Calm sites are just as spectacular. Siaba Besar is often ranked in the top 5 Komodo dives for turtle density. Sebayur has some of the most beautiful hard corals in the park. And once you've gained confidence (sometimes as early as day 2), we can gradually introduce sites with light currents if you wish. The pathway adapts to YOUR progression.
I only have 10-15 dives, is that enough for Komodo?
Yes, with our beginner safe pathway. The myth "Komodo = only for experienced divers" comes from the fact that some centers take everyone to the same difficult sites. We adapt sites to your level. With 10-15 dives + our refresher + 2:1 ratio + calm sites, you're perfectly equipped to enjoy Komodo safely.
