Advanced Open Water — 2 Days
Dive order and elective availability may change with tides, conditions and operational planning. Night diving is available only when age, schedule and conditions allow. Certification is performance-based, and required skills are never shortened to fit the schedule.
Your 5 Adventure Dives: 2 required, 3 elective
Deep and Underwater Navigation are required. Select the other three with your instructor according to your goals, age, local conditions and availability.

FAQ — Advanced Open Water in Komodo
Is there an exam?
There is no final exam. Complete the relevant knowledge development through PADI eLearning before the dives, then review it with your instructor. The main focus of the course is practical skill development through 5 Adventure Dives.
What's the free bonus dive?
Your two-day program includes one extra dive at no additional course cost. It can be a fun dive or an additional Adventure Dive, depending on your age, the conditions, the schedule and instructor approval.
Can I do the Advanced right after my Open Water?
Yes. PADI Open Water Divers, or divers with a qualifying certification from another training organisation, can start the Advanced course. Your instructor will assess your comfort and current skills and select appropriate sites. If you completed our 3-day Open Water format, its 2 Adventure Dives may be credited after your training records are confirmed.
What's included in the price?
The course price includes PADI Advanced Open Water eLearning, 5 Adventure Dives, 1 bonus dive, full SCUBAPRO equipment, all course boat trips, Komodo National Park fees, breakfast at Le Resto, lunch on board, instruction and certification processing. Accommodation, medical clearance if required, and other restaurant meals are not included.
What are the minimum age and depth limits?
The minimum age is 12. Divers aged 12–14 earn the PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver certification and are limited to a maximum depth of 21 m. Divers aged 15 and over qualify to a maximum depth of 30 m after successful course completion. All divers must remain within their training, experience and comfort limits.
Does Advanced certification guarantee access to every Komodo dive site?
No. Advanced certification expands your training and depth qualification, but daily site selection still depends on tides, currents, conditions, recent experience, comfort and the team's assessment. We select suitable sites and timing for each group.
